The San Antonio Spurs are still in the win column after a 130-126 overtime win against the New York Knicks on Friday night at the Frost Bank Center.

The win gave the Spurs their third straight victory, marking their largest streak of the season. The hardest of the wins came Friday against the Knicks, where Jalen Brunson scored 61 points to lead New York to a ferocious comeback. However, the Spurs found a way to stay ahead and prevail, which is a sign of growth compared to when San Antonio would surrender leads earlier in the season.

"That’s a tough team," point guard Tre Jones said of the Knicks. "They’re having a really good year. They're super physical, aggressive. We got out to an early lead, we were shooting the ball really [well] and then shots weren't falling in the third quarter. They got back into the game, but you can feel how it was different than how we were earlier in the year when we let teams back in the game like that. We stayed together as a group. We continued to fight on the defensive end."

San Antonio's ability to keep leads has been an Achilles heel for the team all year, but the win against New York proves that progress has been made. And if the Spurs can continue making progress, they are eventually going to become a dangerous team in the Western Conference.

The Spurs return to the floor tomorrow night when they host the Golden State Warriors at the Frost Bank Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
