This Ole Miss baseball team is looking to bounce back after a disappointing weekend on the road against the Tennessee Volunteers.

While the Rebs survived the sweep by grabbing game two in Knoxville, they got hit in the mouth, falling to the run rule in the other two contests. Tuesday is an opportunity to get back on track.

Here are three things to pay attention to during the midweek constest with Austin Peay.

Govs Have SEC Experience

Austin Peay is no stranger to SEC competition, as the Govs went into Starkville earlier this season and swept Mississippi State in a two-game midweek series. They also played a series on The Plains and pushed Auburn, scoring 15 runs in the Saturday game.

Don't expect the Govs to roll over. They are accustomed to playing in the best environments in the country. The Rebs need to jump on them and score runs early.

Kyler Carmack will also need to pound the zone and make good pitches when he is ahead in the count because Austin Peay has some legit hitters in its order.

Austin Peay Can Rake

The Governors are Top 10 in doubles, slugging percentage, batting average, and home runs. Very eye-opening stuff.

In their last weekend series against Queens, Austin Peay put up 17 runs on Friday, 14 on Saturday and 12 on Sunday.

Jon Bay is a hitter to look out for in this lineup. Bay, the Oklahoma State transfer, has a home run in six of the last 10 games and boasts a .389 average in those 10 games. When hitters are going like that, the ball looks like a beach ball, and they have a great eye for the zone.

'Get Right' Game

This midweek matchup is a great way to get back on track for the Rebels before Kentucky comes to town. Pound the zone, have good at-bats, and you should be okay.

The Rebels also need to start playing clean defense as a throwing error almost cost them the ballgame on Saturday. You don't want to give this offense any chances to add crooked numbers because they will.
