The San Antonio Spurs are rolling after a positive week of growth.

The week saw the Spurs win three games in a row for the first time this season. Not only did they win, but they beat some playoff-contending teams, including the New York Knicks on Friday night.

Their success has catapulted them up three spots in CBS Sports' latest power rankings from No. 26 to 23.

"Victor Wembanyama etched his name next to Shaquille O'Neal -- the last rookie to rack up a 40-20 game before Friday's exploits in a thrilling overtime win over the Knicks," CBS Sports writes. "Speaking of winning, perhaps the most encouraging Wemby stat (and there are plenty) is that four of the six highest-scoring games of his career have resulted in San Antonio wins. These aren't empty calories, people."

The Spurs rank ahead of the Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, Portland Trail Blazers and Toronto Raptors.

The Spurs hope to continue their winning ways this week, but it comes with a more difficult challenge. They start tonight on the road against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets before heading to the Big Easy on Friday to play Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans. Then, the week ends on Sunday as the Philadelphia 76ers come to town for their annual visit to the Frost Bank Center.
