Greatest of All Time? Los Angeles Rams Legend Aaron Donald's Humble Take

The Los Angeles Rams had one of the best defensive players in the history of the NFL, but he does not think that he should be called the greatest of all time.

Aaron Donald is without a doubt one of if not the best defensive player of his generation, as he has maintained consistency throughout his 10-year NFL career. But when asked whether or not he believes he is up there with the greatest to ever do it, Donald hesitates in making that claim.

"I think for my era, yes. But everybody was different," Donald said in his first post-retirement presser. "You’ve got guys that were great that I looked up to like Ray Lewis that was the greatest of his time. Polamalu, Pittsburgh guy. Lawrence Taylor. There’s different eras that it’s hard to say because the game changed so much. In the time I played, I think I held my own and did what I did to help change the game."

Donald has been terrorizing opposing quarterbacks eveer since he came into the league back in 2014. And since then, he has racked up 111 sacks and 176 tackles for loss, which places him third all-time.

Many place Donald at the top of the list of the best defensive players of all time with Lawrence Taylor, Ray Lewis, and Bruce Smith, among many others. But his very humble nature just won't let Donald do that.

The Rams will have a tall task filling the void left behind by the greatness of Donald. But no matter how hard they try, the team will never be able to full replace one of the greatest defensive players to ever play the game of football.
