Angels Player Goes Viral for Lamenting New MLB Jerseys While Signing Old Uniform

The new MLB jerseys that debuted this year have been one of the biggest talking points of the young 2024 season.

Many players and fans vocalized their displeasure when the new uniforms were unveiled in spring training. The loud complaints have only grown since then, varying from the small lettering used for the player's last name to the see-through pants to the odd sweat stains and mismatched grays.

Los Angeles Angels reliever Carlos Estévez was reminded of the differences in the uniforms when a fan asked him to sign a jersey that was used in previous years.

"Oh my god, these are so good," Estévez said to a fan outside Angel Stadium before comparing the jersey he was wearing to the uniform he was about to autograph. "This one's real."

Designed by Nike and produced by Fanatics, the new uniforms were approved by MLB. Nike did recently release a statement stating they have isolated the sweat stain issue and "are exploring a solution to minimize it."

For now, however, the new jerseys appear to be here to stay.
